The Chambly office, when operating as Groupe Birex inc . , was the first company in Québec to have robotic construction surveying stations. It was also the first company in Canada to have a 3D laser scanner, a revolutionary surveying device that is used to capture and process large amounts of accurate, three-dimensional data quickly, and to produce 3D computerized topographical surveys including panoramic photographs and videos. The company that manufactures the device, Trimble , has clearly shown that the new scanner's accuracy and high speed of execution can lead to time and labour savings of up to 80%.
The 3D scanner is ideal for archaeological surveys, construction and maintenance of bridges, roads and tunnels, public infrastructures, construction of complex buildings and cinematographic applications |
